Julien
Temple, Director
Following
Julien Temple's directorial debut film the Great Rock 'N' Roll
Swindle (1980), he became one of the early pioneers of music
videos, directing the Kinks, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Neil Young,
Tom Petty and Janet Jackson. He has since directed several films,
including the musicals Absolute Beginners (1986) and Earth
Girls Are Easy (1989), starring the then-unknown Jim Carrey
and Geena Davis, The Rolling Stones Live at The Max (1991),
and most recently Vigo, inspired by the life and work of
French film director Jean Vigo. He continues to direct music videos
and commercials, and to develop projects for both cinema and TV.
He has just completed Pandemonium, a film starring Robert
Carlyle, based on the relationship between the 18th century poets
Coleridge and Wordsworth for BBC.
